Our Counselling Approach
RESTORE Wellbeing's approach to counselling reflects our ethos, in that it is relational and rests on the assumption that people have the potential to change when they are offered an environment characterised by empathy, acceptance and genuineness.
Many of our counsellors base their practice on a Person-Centred approach, working together with clients to consider their concerns and clarify what they are hoping to gain from counselling. Our counsellors will facilitate the client in exploring these concerns, enabling the client to gain greater understanding and awareness which may offer fresh perspectives as they move towards the goals they have set.
We also have counsellors trained in Psychodynamic, Pluralistic and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy approaches who can offer other ways of working for those clients who would benefit from this.
Many of our counsellors are comfortable working with the spiritual dimension of life. We offer the opportunity to explore issues from the perspective of Christianity for those who specifically request it.
